A first new building is to be realized for the Wohnbaugenossenschaft Steinhausen.
The apartment building is positioned as a compact wooden structure along the Pianoweg, leaving plenty of free green space, which will be used as a community garden. On the access side, the new Pianoplatz will be created, which is to become the meeting point of the new apartment building and the entire neighborhood.
The architectural expression is characterized by the accentuated volumetry and the balconies arranged at the building corners with colored fabric blinds. The fine color division of the vertical wooden formwork structures the volume.
With two day care centers and a community room, the entrance floor accommodates mainly public uses. A total of 25 apartments ranging from 1.5-room to 5.5-room are planned. The generous staircase with the attached laundry rooms on each floor forms the heart of the building.
